One feature of NOVA 5.6 that has been
added is the ability to add text and graphical annotations to your
Location Maps, Flood Maps, and Images. While this is a fairly
straight forward process, it can be a bit confusing at first. Please
follow the instructions below to add text of icons to your Maps and
Images:
Using annotations and text in Nova
Map:
You can add annotations and text to
your map after it is generated in Nova maps. Follow these
steps to add annotations:
-
Click on the annotation icon on
the top menu in in
Nova Maps.

Annotation Icon
-
Move your mouse arrow to the location
where you would like to add an annotation, and left click, once.
- A list of annotation options will appear on
the screen, and you can choose the annotation that you would like to
add to the map.
For
example, you can choose Subject and Comparable Markers,
Small arrows, and Large arrows to add to your map.
To add text to your map, follow these
steps:
-
Click on the text annotation icon
on the top menu in Nova Maps.

-
Move the cursor to the
location where you need to add text, and left click once.
-
A box will appear on the
screen, from which you can choose what font style or size you
desire. The white space in the bottom of that box is where you enter
the text to be placed on the map.
-
Click "Okay" to add the text to the Map.
Using annotations and text in Nova
Flood Maps:
Configuring NOVA Flood maps to Use
a Movable Subject Icon:

Maps configured to use a Movable Icon, Nova Image will launch,

that you want to appear on your flood map.
- After choosing the
annotations that you wish to add, you will notice that the flood map appears in
both sides of the split screen view (In both NOVA Forms and NOVA Image).
Note that the Map in
Nova Image shows the annotations, while the one in Nova forms does not
contain annotations.
- In order to 'apply' the image
to your map addendum, you must 'flatten the image'. Click the
"Flatten Image" icon on the top menu. (It has a red circle around
it in the picture
below).

- After you have flattened
the Image, simply drag-and-drop it to the flood map addendum that
should still be open on the left part of the screen (Nova Forms).
