Accounting

Accounting is divided into three parts in Nova Office: Post Receipts, Pay Real Estate Professional, and Pay Reviewer. All are accessed via the Accounting menu.

Post Receipts

1.   Select Accounting | Post Receipts. This will display the Find Cases dialog.

2.   Enter criteria to find cases that have been billed, but have not had payments posted. For example, if a client’s check is for an individual case, enter the case number, but if the check covers a number of appraisals, select the Client or Client ID from the provided drop-down lists. Click the OK button.

3.   The Post Receipts dialog (shown below) is displayed. All cases for the selected client that have been billed, have no payment posted, and have a balance greater than $0.00 will be displayed.

4.   Fill in the date of the check, the check number, and the check amount.

5.   For each case that the check covers, you can either manually enter a dollar amount in the Amount Paid field for that case, or select the row and click the Apply Max button.

6.   Continue until the Amount Remaining on the check is $0.00. Nova Office will not let you post more than the amount of the check.

7.   When completed, click either the Save button, or click the Next Check button if you have more checks to post.
