Archive Comps

Archive Comps copies comps from your Comps database to an archive database and deletes the selected comps from your Comps database.

To archive comps:

1.   Quit out of any Day One products that may be running on your workstation. If you are running in a network environment, with shared data, all users must exit.

2.   Start Archiver by selecting Start | Programs | Day One Nova Products | Archiver. The main Archiver window will appear.

3.   Click on the Archive Comps button. The Select Comp(s) to archive dialog will appear (see below). By default, all properties found in your Comp database are listed in the grid.

4.   Select the comps to archive:

·      To individually select comps to be archived, Ctrl-Click on each desired comp.

·      To select all the comps shown in the grid, click on the "Select All" button.

·      To narrow down the list, enter the appropriate information in one or more of the Range Selection criteria, then click the "Retrieve" button.

·      If you like, you can sort the comps by clicking on the column heading of the desired field.

5.   When you have selected (highlighted) the comps you want to archive, click the "Archive" button. The "Select…" dialog will be displayed, as show below.

6.   Select an existing Archive database, or create a new one to store the archived records. This database can exist on another drive, such as a removable ZIP, JAZ, or similar device. Archive database are in an Access 97 database format. All associated files, such as images, are stored in a ZIP file (viewable with utilities such as WinZip), in the same folder as the archive database (.MDB file), with the same base filename, but with a .ZIP extension. WARNING: Do not select an existing database that contains Appraisal information.

7.   Click the "Save" button. The Archive process will begin.
