AutoSave

The AutoSave command allows you to tell Forms to save the current appraisal file automatically. You can tell Forms to save at specified time intervals (i.e. every 10 minutes) or events (i.e. switching between sections).

TIP: You can tell when Forms is saving (or autosaving) because the computer will lock up for just a short period of time (5-45 seconds) and the hourglass will be spinning.

To specify when you would like Forms to automatically save your file:

1. Make sure you have a form open on the screen.

2. Choose Configuration | Auto-Save… to display the AutoSave Configuration dialog box as shown in Figure 2-10.

TIP: You will need to open a form before you can use this option.

3. Click in the appropriate radio button to tell Forms when to automatically save. If you choose Every n minutes, enter the number of minutes between autosaves in the box.

4. For Comps Database Auto-Save options, check the "Prompt when closing a form" in order to be prompted to save the properties from the appraisal being closed to the database and "Don’t save Subject Property" if you would prefer to only store the Comparable properties. Please note that these settings do not take effect unless Auto-Save to Comps Database is checked as described below.

5. Click OK. Auto-Save is now turned on.

AutoSave to Comps Database
