Backing up your Data
Databases are stored in \NOVA. To verify which drive your databases are located on, go to Start | Run, and type in ODBCAD32. This will launch the ODBC Data Source Administrator (see below). Select the "day1_aod32" data source and click the "Configure" button. This will display the ODBC Microsoft Access Setup dialog (see below). Check the path in the "Database" frame, then click the "Cancel" button, as no changes are necessary. Repeat for the "day1_comps32" data source.
Data files are typically stored in \NOVA\DATA. To verify the exact location on your system, start Forms, and select Configuration | Directory Options | Forms Data. Please note that there this folder typically contains sub-folders with other data you may wish to back up, such as templates, common responses, images, etc.
You will want to copy these files to another drive, a CD, tape, or other removable media. Please note when restoring data from another media, that the Read-only attribute of restored files must be removed. This can be done by right-clicking the files in Windows Explorer, selecting Properties, and un-checking the "Read-only" box.
It is highly recommended that you backup at least your databases on a regular basis. The rule of thumb is to backup as frequently as you can afford to. For example, if you cannot afford to lose more than one day’s work, you should back up every day!
