Basic Word Processing Functions
In addition to its advanced functionality, the Text Addendum provides basic word processing functions. This functionality is described here.
· The Edit menu allows you to Cut, Copy, and Paste text using Ctrl-X, Ctrl-V, and Ctrl to the Windows clipboard. Click here for more detailed information about Cut, Copy, and Paste
· The Undo option (Ctrl-Z) on the Edit menu will undo the last change made in the Text Addendum. The Redo option will revert back to the state prior to the last Undo action. NOTE: If the Undo command is grayed out or says Can’t Undo, you can’t undo anything because:
• there is nothing to undo or
• the last command or change you made is not "undoable" or
• you have not yet done anything.
· All the text in the Text Addendum can be selected using the Edit | Select All menu option
· Edit | Find allows you to search for text, and Edit | Replace allows you to search for and replace specific text
· Page Breaks can be inserted by selecting Insert | Page Break (or via the same option on the right-click menu)
· The color and background color of selected text can be changed via Format | Text Color, and Format | Background Color
· Spelling can be checked by selecting Utilities | Check Spelling
· Synonyms can be found for selected words by selecting Utilities | Thesaurus
· You can format a paragraph in the addendum with indents and spacing. To use the paragraph formatting commands, select (highlight) the paragraph(s) you want to format. Then choose Format | Paragraph. The Paragraph dialog box appears as shown in Figure 6-4.
