Crash Handler
At Day One, we constantly strive to make our products easier and more productive for you to use. In order to more accurately diagnose and correct a problem you are experiencing, Nova Forms has a built-in crash handler. It is imperative that the steps leading up to this problem are accurately documented. Typically, a specific set of steps is performed that we did not anticipate.
If the Crash Handler dialog (see figures below), appears, please click the "Details" button to display the detailed listing. The technical information on the screen probably won’t mean anything to you, but it is important to our programmers. In order to get this information to us, click one of the buttons on the right ("Print", "Save As", or "Email"). Please note that, depending upon the nature of the crash, one or more of these will not function properly. Clicking any of these buttons will display the "Comments" dialog. Please try to be as accurate as possible when describing the steps leading up to this crash. For example, "I had just completed a sketch, returned to the main form (a 2055 report), scrolled down to the Comparables grid, and attempted to arrow from Comp 3 to Comp 4".
Clicking the "Print" button will print the Technical Information, as well as the comments you have entered, to your default printer. This can then be faxed to our Tech Support department at 716-632-9747. The "Save As" button will save this same information to a text file, for faxing/emailing at a later time. And the "Email" button will generate an email message to our Tech Support department containing the pertinent information.
