Dayone.ini and ODBC
To share the information for Day One NOVA Forms, certain items must be configured to point to the shared or desired drive. These items are the Dayone.ini (found in the WINDOWS or WINNT folder, depending upon your operating system), and two 32-bit ODBC data sources.
To configure DAYONE.INI
1. Click on START | RUN
2. Type in DAYONE.INI
3. Click on OK
4. This will take you to DAYONE.INI in Notepad
5. Scroll down and look for the section below
6. You will see:
[NOVA Forms]
EXE=C:\NOVA\FORMS\D1FRMS32.EXE => this line is correct. (We recommend this to be local)
DefaultDataPath=C:\NOVA\DATA\ => change this line to point to your network drive. For example: I:\NOVA\DATA = where I is equal to your network drive.
TMPLAT=C:\NOVA\DATA\ => if you want to share TEMPLATES, change this as well.
7. Click on File | Exit
8. Select YES to save changes.
To configure 32-bit ODBC
1. Click on START | SETTINGS | CONTROL PANEL
2. Double click on ODBC Data Sources (32-bit)
3. Double click on day1_aod 32(Microsoft Access Driver)
4. Click on SELECT
5. Change the appropriate drives to the network drive. The file is AOD32.MDB
6. Click on OK
7. Click on OK to close "ODBC Microsoft Access Setup" screen
8. Double click on day1_comp32 (Microsoft Access Driver)
9. Click on SELECT
10. Change the appropriate drives to the network drive. The file is D1COMP32.MDB
11. Click on OK
12. Click on OK to close "ODBC Microsoft Access Setup" screen
