How to use the LandSafe Communications Module
The Day One LandSafe Communications Module is software that allows you to receive orders from LandSafe, as well as send back status messages and appraisals.
The program may be launched in one of two ways:
From the Windows95/98 Start Menu, select Programs, then Day One Nova Products, and click on ‘LandSafe Communications’.
By selecting ‘LandSafe Comm Module’ from the Utilities Menu in Day One Forms.
The Home Window (figure 4) lists the files that have already been prepared for transmission, but have not yet been sent. This window appears when the application is first launched, or when the ‘Home’ button is clicked.

The ‘Check for Orders’ button searches the Outlook98 Inbox for new, unread orders from LandSafe. For each order that is found, an Acceptance dialog box (figure 5) appears.

In the Acceptance dialog box:
Click the ‘Accept’ button to generate a message to LandSafe indicating your acceptance of the appraisal order. Important: Please note the date and time for which this order must be accepted by.
Click ‘Print’ to print a copy of the order listing all the information supplied by LandSafe.
Click ‘Close’ after accepting and/or printing the appraisal order, or if you choose not to accept the order.
When you accept the order, the appraisal file will be created for you, with the appropriate data being filled in from the order. Please note the form type and name of the file that is created, as it can then be opened in Day One Forms by clicking the ‘Open Existing Appraisal’ button (or by selecting File | Open Form from the menu bar), and selecting the correct form type and file number.
The ‘View Orders’ button displays the list of orders (figure 6) you have received from LandSafe. You can right-click on an order to do one of the following: view the order, delete the order, or send a status message.

The ‘Prepare Files’ button allows you to select a file to convert to the LandSafe format. This can also be done from within the Forms software, by selecting File | Export. If Lighthouse is installed on your system, you will also be prompted to create a Lighthouse file. If you want to send a Lighthouse file, click the 'Yes' button. This will convert your Day One data file into the Lighthouse format. When prompted, select the appropriate 'Lighthouse Report Pak' for the type of form you are converting.
The ‘Send Files’ button creates an Outlook98 email message for each prepared file. These messages are placed in the Outlook98 Outbox folder, and will be sent to LandSafe the next time Outlook98 sends and receives messages. Note: the LandSafe Comm Module tells Outlook98 to send and receive anytime the ‘Send Files’ and ‘Check for Orders’ buttons are clicked.
The ‘View History’ button displays a list of items (figure 7) that have been sent back to LandSafe, including acceptance messages, status messages, and completed appraisals. Orders that were received, but not accepted, are also listed.
