System Requirements

Pocket Appraiser's minimum system requirements are Windows 95, Pentium-class computer, 16MB RAM, 20MB of available hard drive space. Consult your handheld's documentation for its system requirements.

Getting Started

First, install your handheld's software according to the manufacturer's instructions. Spend a few minutes to familiarize yourself with your handheld by going through the handheld's built-in applications.

IMPORTANT:
Be sure that your handheld is working and that HotSync is functioning correctly before installing Pocket Appraiser.

Installing Pocket Appraiser

1.   Run PFSetup.exe

2.   Follow the on-screen instructions

3.   Reboot at the end of the installation

IMPORTANT: Pocket Appraiser does not automatically reboot at the end of the installation. This is because the installation sometimes will finish before the HotSync process is complete. Before you use Pocket Appraiser, you must reboot your PC.

Using Pocket Appraiser

·      New appraisals can be created with your desktop appraisal software, or on the handheld.

·      To create a new appraisal on the handheld, tap New, then tap the Form Type. The first page of a new form will appear on which you can begin entering data.

·      To create a new appraisal with your desktop form software, (insert those instructions here).

Entering and Saving Appraisals

·      You can enter data with either the Graffiti handwriting recognition system, or by tapping out letters with the on-screen keyboard.

·      Consult your handheld's guide for information about the Graffiti handwriting recognition system.

TIP: Your handheld also comes with a Graffiti application which will give you a quick head-start to learning the handwriting system.

TIP: Tap the 'abc' icon in the lower left corner of the Graffiti area to invoke the on-screen keyboard.

·      Data is automatically saved when you exit the program.
