Save Your Appraisal
![]()
The Save button on the Toolbar is the same as choosing File | Save.
We recommend that you periodically save your appraisal so that you do not lose your work in the event of a power outage or similar event. We suggest you save your work at least every 10 minutes.
In order to be able to retrieve an appraisal at a later time, you must save it before you close its window.
TIP: Just in case you might forget to save, use Forms’ AutoSave feature.
The Save Command
The Save command saves changes to the appraisal displayed on the screen.
1. Display the appraisal in the active window. (The active window is the top window of all the windows on the screen.) To make a window active, click on it with the mouse.
2. Choose File | Save.
Nova Forms saves the file, with its current file number, without displaying a dialog box.
The Save As Command
The Save As command allows you to save an existing appraisal to a new file. It can also be used to save an existing appraisal as another type of form! For instance, a Windows URAR form created by mistake can be converted to a Windows Condo form so that you don’t have to retype the information.
TIP: If you want to save the appraisal onto a diskette or into a new location, use the File | Export command. See Putting an Appraisal on Diskette for more detailed information.
NOTE: If you just want to save the appraisal, using its current file number, choose File | Save.
To save the file with a new number or form type:

2. Choose File | Save As...

4. Choose the Form type.
5. Click OK.
6. Select any attachments you wish to include in the new file. Note: all attachments are included by default; de-select any that you do not want by clicking on them.
The appraisal is saved to the new file.
