Split Window

TIP: You can also open more than one report at a time and tile the report windows using the Tile Horizontal and Vertical commands available from the Window menu.

In certain instances, you may want to display two sections of the form at the same time by splitting the window.

For example, if you are entering information in the Site section of the form, you may find it helpful to be able to see the address of the house in the Subject section of the form.

To display two sections of the current appraisal at the same time:

1. Display one of the sections of the form you want to see.

SHORTCUT:
In Windows, you can also split the window by dragging the split window symbol down to the middle of the scroll bar.

2. Choose View | Split Window. The window splits in half, into two panes, each with its own scroll bars, as shown in Figure 4-1.

3. Use the new scroll bars to position the document in each of the new windows.

TIP: When the window is split you can only enter data into the top portion of the screen. Scroll the top section of the screen to where you want to do data entry. Scroll the bottom section of the screen to show the data you want see.

4. Click in the section of the screen where you would like another section to appear.

5. Use the section tabs, View menu, scroll bar, etc. to display the desired section of the form.

SHORTCUT:
You can unsplit the window by moving the split window symbol up to the top of the scroll bar.

To "unsplit" the window:

1. Click in the section of the window you want to continue to display.

2. Choose View | Split Window. The window then "unsplits."
